2. Notre Dame's Band of the Fighting Irish march towards the football stadium on game day: I'm a ND fan and also a fan of getting traffic to my YouTube page.  The two work well together.
3. Notre Dame Football Pep Rally: The band marches in (see #2).  The is video attracted lots of ND haters in the comments!
4. Predators' Jason Arnott Injured: Nashville's captain was taken from the ice on a stretcher after a neck injury.  He was checked out at the hospital and back at the rink before the game was over.  He's the team's leading goal scorer this season.
5. Bellevue Community Church service: This is video of the emotional music only worship service the week following the ouster of the church's founding pastor, Dr. David Foster.

Rosenbaum mocked for attack on Billy Joel

An apparently well known music critic jumped the shark last week in a strange attack on Billy Joel that made about as much sense as Richard Simmons fighting Brock Lesnar.  It was just about as effective too, as some question Rosenbaum's motives: Billy Joel and Boomer Critical Hysteria

There is a worm, or computer virus, that's making its way around the Internet infecting Windows PCs'.

It's called the Conficker or Downadup.  Microsoft released a patch last fall that protects your PC.  But the worm continues to thrive because many users have not updated Windows on their machine(s).

Here's what I'd want if I were hiring a marketer:

You're relentlessly positive. You can visualize complex projects and imagine alternative possible outcomes. It's one thing to talk about thinking outside the box, it's quite another to have a long history of doing it successfully. You can ride a unicycle, or can read ancient Greek.

Show me that you've taken on and completed audacious projects, and run them as the lead, not as a hanger on. I'm interested in whether you've become the best in the world at something, and completely unimpressed that you are good at following instructions (playing Little League baseball is worth far less than organizing a non-profit organization). "The New Frugality"

I came across this week's cover story in Business Week on a new movement towards frugality in America.

As a kid, I noticed my Grandma Lettie's approach to their household finances.  She was very frugal as a byproduct of her managing through the Depression.  But by the time I came along, they were solidly middle class and could've spent more than they did.  But they did not.  Instead, Grandma kept track of every penny in a ledger she kept nearby the kitchen table.

This post by Dave Ramsey reminds us that it's our responsibility to manage our money and Washington is not going to solve your problems no matter who is elected President.

Quick Hits - 2/13/2008

Here's what's happening:

A quick hit snow storm whipped through middle TN during rush hour February 13.  It wasn't so bad in Nashville, but I heard that folks up north were stuck.  I took this video on the way to work this morning. After reviewing it, I know a few of my friends will give me grief over the song that happened to be on the radio while I was recording.

I spent Monday - Tuesday in New York City where it was cold and windy.  That city always intimidates me, even though I've lived there and visited there regularly my whole life.  Thanks to my co-workers up there for showing me a good time while we even managed to get a lot of work done.  Harold Ford, Jr. was on my flight back to Nashville yesterday.  I didn't get to ask him about the election although I wanted to.  He seemed to be too busy on his cell phone and blackberry to chat. I wondered what he'd been up to since he lost the Senate race.

Also, I discovered an application that I added to my facebook profile where you can put a virtual pin in a map of all the places you've been in the world.  Pretty cool. Check mine out.
