Flying over Camp Boxwell

If you're a Tennessee Boy Scout, you probably know what Camp Boxwell looks like.  Scout or not however, you may not know what an eagle sees as she flies over it.  Now you can check that experience off your list thanks to my pal Jay Graves and his radio controlled eagle.

Jay's eagle soared over Boxwell and its resident Scouts Friday.   It looks to me that the eagle carried some sort of flash memory video camera in its beak from the looks of this stunning aerial footage.

A '74 VW Superbeetle convertible

My new hobby is restoring a 1974 Volkswagon Superbeetle convertible. It's actually in pretty good shape. After I bought it off a nice gentleman in West Tennessee, I drove it 78 miles back to my father in law's house where we'll work on it.

Fireworks Photography

I was thinking I would prefer to celebrate this 4th of July close to some nice air conditioning.  Maybe even watch the fireworks on TV.  Well, that wasn't going to happen anyway given the thrill my three year old gets out of it.

But now I've got a reason to get excited too.  I may try following this brilliant (pun intended) how-to guide to fireworks photography.  It was the combination of the simple instructions and incredible photographs that has me thinking I can capture some great shots.

Anyone know of a good spot to set-up where there will room to operate with a tripod?
